"When the judge told me he was going to take my baby away from me, I thought that I would just curl up and die. But I ended up here at MFI where I found people who understood and didn't look down on me for my problems because they had them, too. Now I have by baby back and I'm working to get my life together." Jenny P., Age 29
For over 10 years, MFI has offered treatment targeted to the particular needs of women through residential, outpatient and day treatment services.
Women face a unique set of problems when dealing with substance abuse. While men frequently are supported by their partners' attempts to hold the famiy unit together, women often have no support system when they seek treatment. In addition, many women:
- suffer from feelings of dependency, low self-esteem, and anxiety
- have been victims of troubled relationships
- experience the disintegration of their families
MFI's programs help women with the special problems they face with chemical dependency.
MFI's specialized women's programs provide a save, supportive environment where women can develop skills to help free them from the feelings of dependency, low self-esteem, anxiety, and limited personal resources.
Women are provided with comprehensive, on-site, mother and child oriented services that deliver the elements necessary for the complete recovery of intact families. Clients receive:
MFI's treatment programs provide comfortable surroundings with play areas for children. Mothers learn to interact with their children and to understand what parenting is all about while they receive help.
MFI offers an array of services to meet each woman's situation. Women have access to residential, day treatment, and/or outpatient services, depending on each unique situation.
